For the second consecutive year, Armadillo Supermoto will stage its round of
the AMA Pro Supermoto Championship series in Texas. But this year, they’re
moving the venue to downtown Austin, the state capital and proclaimed ‘Live
Music Capital of the World’.
ASM hosted the very successful inaugural 2007 AMA Pro Supermoto race at Moody
Gardens Resort on Galveston Island. The 2008 Fall event will be moving to an
exciting new venue in Austin.
“Austin makes great sense for supermoto,” offered Skip Jones. “It’s such an
active vibrate culture, and provides a great backdrop for all types of outdoor
activities all year round. And by us moving to a more central location, it will
be easier for visiting fans to enjoy all that the city has to offer.”
This year’s Armadillo Supermoto event will be a bit earlier this year as well;
the weekend of October 11, 2008. ASM plans to reveal the exciting new venue in
the next several weeks.
“We tried a lot of things with last year’s race weekend, from which we learned
a lot that we are already applying to this year’s event,” said John Hessinger
of ASM. “Stay tuned! We’re planning on putting on an even better show for the
2008 Texas round, and really working hard to support the fast-growing sport of
supermoto. We’ll have a few exciting announcements coming soon.”
